Overcoming Overwhelm

This blog is the summary of notes that we took as we experienced the Tapping World Summit 2012 and it gives our interpretation of the message shared by the key speakers. For more information on this event, please visit the Tapping World Summit 2012 page.

Day 1 – Red Room – Overcoming Overwhelm for a Life of Success – Carol Look

Carol Look is an expert in EFT and has written an incredible book – Attracting Abundance with EFT. She brought along this expertise and some great EFT Tapping scripts to the Tapping World Summit 2012 and her topic was a also a very common problem faced by all – Overcoming Overwhelm.

She started off explained how people are overwhelmed and even how they accept this as part of their life. But feeling overwhelm or feeling busy does not mean that we are important or productive. It is actually the other way around. In an overwhelm state, we are not in control of ourselves and it is hard to even think clearly. To solve this problem, Carol quickly went through a Tapping routine – starting with the Karate chop –saying “I feel so overwhelm, that I cannot even think straight” and went on through all the Meridian points. It was instantaneously demonstrated, how Tapping brings the level of overwhelm down and bring back the control of thoughts and decisions. Many seemingly difficult problems, suddenly start to look easy and manageable.

Carol also showed how the overwhelm state even originates. It is mostly a habit – a habit of saying “Yes” to the projects or things that we do not want to do, but we cannot say “No” – may be due to the guilt that we are not doing enough for someone; or it could be that we don’t know how to prioritize and end up with lot of things on the To-do list. She then worked through another Tapping sequence, to relieve from the pressure of saying “No” and bring the level of guilt down. So now, within the first 15 mins, the audience already had 2 Tapping scripts that they can use in such situations. Also the Newbie to the EFT or Tapping, started off learning this technique hands-on.

Jessica Ortner, the host of the Tapping World Summit 2012, then moved the discussion towards the overwhelming feeling associated with the Finances. Again a very common problem as people get anxious and overwhelmed while paying their bills, planning their investments and even while exploring a new income stream. Carol gave the third Tapping sequence, specifically for helping to lower being overwhelm with the financial situation.  Being in the anxiety and stressed state of mind makes it hard to make any decisions or even see the obvious solution. With Tapping, the mind can be brought to a much calmer state and then decisions can be based on a clear thinking rather than quick and un-informed decisions.

Carol also gave some great tips on how people, who are new to Tapping, can quickly adapt themselves and get into the habit of Tapping. She did couple of more Tapping sequences to help the people go through the Fear of Change and then to quite the mind, so that we can listen to the intuition message that comes from within.
